Introduction

Overview

Sciera is a data analytics and technology company that helps organizations make smarter, insight-driven decisions. During my time at Sciera, I led the end-to-end UX/UI design for their new website and internal data visualization platform. The goal was to simplify complex analytics into an intuitive, user-friendly experience while maintaining a modern, professional brand presence.

The Challenge

Sciera’s previous website and data visualization tools were powerful but difficult for users to navigate.
The interface required significant training, and key insights were often hidden behind complex filters and cluttered layouts. The company needed a modern redesign that enhanced usability, improved data accessibility, and reflected their growing identity as an analytics leader.

Key Focus:

  • Unclear navigation and inconsistent visual hierarchy

  • Overwhelming data visualizations with limited filtering capabilities

  • A fragmented user experience across web and internal tools

My Role

UX/UI Designer

I owned the full design process from research to high-fidelity mockups, collaborating closely with Sciera’s engineering and product teams to ensure smooth implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • UX research & user journey mapping

  • Information architecture & user flow design

  • UI design in Figma

  • Creation of data visualization components and advanced filtering systems

Process

1. Research & User Flows

I began by mapping user journeys and identifying friction points within the old interface.
Through interviews and observation, I discovered that users struggled most with navigating dashboards and applying filters effectively.

  1. Wireframing & Prototyping

Using Figma, I designed a responsive website and visualization interface focused on simplicity and clarity.
    Key improvements included:

    • Streamlined navigation to guide users through key analytics pages

    • Advanced filtering options to customize and drill down into datasets

    • Consistent visual hierarchy for quick comprehension of insights

  1. Visual Design

I applied a clean, data-first visual system that reflected Sciera’s brand identity — balancing professionalism with accessibility.
The design emphasized clarity through color-coded data categories, minimalist iconography, and a typography system optimized for readability.

Conclusion

The Sciera redesign project was a powerful example of how thoughtful UX and data visualization can transform complex systems into intuitive, actionable experiences. By focusing on usability, visual clarity, and responsive design, I helped bridge the gap between data complexity and user comprehension. The new interface not only improved efficiency and satisfaction but also strengthened Sciera’s brand as an innovative leader in analytics technology. This project reinforced my belief that great design is not just about aesthetics, it’s about creating clarity, confidence, and meaningful impact through every interaction.
